Why people pick the 2 Series Coupé 230i M Sport Pro

  • Rear-wheel drive, 245 hp, two doors. The driver's car of the list.
  • Four seats, so a weekend for two plus luggage, not a family hauler.

Who the 2 Series Coupé suits

The 230i Coupé is the driver's car in our fleet. It has two doors, four seats, rear-wheel drive and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol with 245 hp paired with an automatic gearbox. It is not the most practical car we have, and it does not pretend to be. It is for people who enjoy driving and want to make the most of German country roads and unrestricted Autobahn sections during their tour.

It suits singles and couples without children in car seats. The rear seats work for short trips or for bags, and the boot takes weekend luggage for two. Getting into the back through the two doors is awkward for adults, so if you regularly carry passengers, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé offers similar power with four doors and a large tailgate.

Book the 230i for the tour you will tell stories about: a summer of Alpine passes, the curves of the Bavarian Forest, early Sunday mornings on unrestricted Autobahn sections. It is a two-person car in daily life, with a boot for weekend bags and rear seats for coats and the occasional short hop with friends. Timing matters with this one. A six-month subscription from spring through autumn plays to its strengths; if your six months cover December to March and you live on a hill, you will spend more time driving carefully on winter tyres than enjoying it, and an all-wheel-drive car is the smarter pick.

Rear-wheel drive and 245 hp on a wet or snowy road ask for respect. We fit winter tyres for the season, and the stability control helps, but if you live on a steep hill or drive a lot in the snow, an all-wheel-drive car like the M135 xDrive gives you similar pace with much more grip. On a dry summer weekend on the way to the Alps, few cars in this price class are more fun.

Questions

What is included in the monthly price?

Fully comprehensive and partial cover with a EUR 1,500 deductible, registration, German plates and road tax, maintenance and service, seasonal tyres, 3,000 km a month and a PCS clause. There is no setup fee. VAT forms accepted. You add fuel.

Is there a deposit?

Yes, three months' rent of your plan: €4,347 on the 6-month plan and on the 30-day plan incl. VAT, €3,654 on the 30-day plan with a VAT form (NF-1), VAT-free. You pay it on site at handover, not online. You get the deposit back immediately at the return, as soon as the return report shows no damage. There is no down payment. For customers resident in Germany we run a credit check with SCHUFA Holding AG before the contract starts. If the result is negative, we may decline the booking; anything already paid is refunded in full.

How many seats does the 230i Coupé have?

Four, with two doors. The rear seats work for children or short trips; adults climb in past the front seats, which gets awkward on longer drives. If four adults travel together regularly, choose the 4 Series Gran Coupé with four doors and the same 245 hp.

Is the 230i Coupé a good winter car?

It can be driven in winter on the winter tyres we fit, but rear-wheel drive and 245 hp ask for care on snow and ice. If your six months fall into winter and you live on a hill, the M135 xDrive gives similar pace with all-wheel drive.

How big is the boot of the 230i Coupé?

390 litres with all seats in use (figures from BMW, 230i Coupé Steptronic). Our source gives no figure with the rear seats folded.

How much fuel does the 230i Coupé use?

Officially 7.1 litres of petrol per 100 km combined, with combined CO₂ emissions of 161 g/km and CO₂ class F (WLTP, figures from BMW, 230i Coupé Steptronic). WLTP is a test value; your own figure depends on how you drive.

How fast is the 230i Coupé?

0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h, according to BMW (230i Coupé Steptronic). The M135 xDrive needs 4.9 seconds to 100 km/h.
