Who the 5 Series Touring 520d xDrive suits
The 520d xDrive Touring is one of the roomiest cars in our fleet, and the longest wagon. It is the current 5 Series Touring with about 570 litres of boot space behind the rear seats, a 2.0-litre diesel mild hybrid with 197 hp, automatic gearbox and xDrive all-wheel drive.
It suits families of four or five with lots of luggage, PCS households who need to move a first load of belongings before the household goods arrive, and anyone with big dogs or sports gear. The rear bench has real room for adults and child seats, and the long wagon body swallows things like strollers and suitcases without folding seats.
This is the car for the first weeks of a PCS with a family of five: suitcases from the airport, bedding and kitchen boxes while the household goods are still on their way, a stroller, and a dog who is not happy about any of it. The long boot takes that load without a roof box, xDrive handles a winter arrival, and the diesel makes the long drive from Frankfurt airport manageable. Later in the tour it turns into the holiday car for Italy, the North Sea or Austria, with bikes or skis inside. Few cars in our fleet carry this much with this little stress.
The diesel makes long drives easy on fuel, whether that is a trip to the North Sea, a drive to Ramstein or a holiday in Italy. All-wheel drive plus the seasonal tyres we fit keep it composed in winter. If you want the same car with more pulling power for heavy loads or towing, the 540d xDrive Touring has a six-cylinder diesel in our top price class. If you do not need this much space, the 3 Series Touring is a class lower in price.

Questions
What is included in the monthly price?
Fully comprehensive and partial cover with a EUR 1,500 deductible, registration, German plates and road tax, maintenance and service, seasonal tyres, 3,000 km a month and a PCS clause. There is no setup fee. VAT forms accepted. You add fuel.
Is there a deposit?
Yes, three months' rent of your plan: €5,397 on the 6-month plan and on the 30-day plan incl. VAT, €4,536 on the 30-day plan with a VAT form (NF-1), VAT-free. You pay it on site at handover, not online. You get the deposit back immediately at the return, as soon as the return report shows no damage. There is no down payment. For customers resident in Germany we run a credit check with SCHUFA Holding AG before the contract starts. If the result is negative, we may decline the booking; anything already paid is refunded in full.
Is the 520d Touring the biggest wagon you have?
It shares that title with the 540d xDrive Touring: both are the current 5 Series Touring and the longest wagons in our fleet. The 520d has the 2.0-litre diesel with 197 hp and xDrive all-wheel drive.
520d Touring or BMW X3 20d?
