Why people pick the C-Class Estate AMG Line
- The C-Class as a wagon: same cabin, twice the trunk.
- Diesel torque and a 9-speed automatic for effortless Autobahn cruising.
Who the C-Class Estate suits
The C-Class Estate is the C-Class for people who need a real boot. Behind the rear seats there are about 490 litres, and with the rear bench folded about 1,510 litres. The interior up front is the same as in the C-Class Sedan, with the large central display and AMG Line trim, so you do not give up comfort for space.
Our car has the C 220 d: a 2.0-litre diesel mild hybrid with 200 hp, rear-wheel drive and the nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic. The diesel torque makes it relaxed with a full load on the Autobahn, and range is a strength. It suits families who travel a lot, dog owners, and anyone doing a PCS move with lots of luggage, or long drives between Bavaria and bases further west.
Where the Estate shines is the long, loaded drive: Vilseck to Ramstein for a week of training with gear in the back, a family road trip to Italy, or the move from temporary lodging into your house. The diesel is at its most efficient on exactly those steady Autobahn kilometres, and the comfortable seats make the fourth hour as bearable as the first. Dog owners appreciate the wide tailgate opening, which makes it easy to fit a crate. If you only drive short trips around post, it will still do the job, but a petrol car such as the C-Class Sedan suits that pattern better.
Rear-wheel drive with the winter tyres we fit is fine on cleared winter roads; on steep, icy lanes it needs more care than an all-wheel-drive car. If all-wheel drive matters to you, the Mercedes GLC 220 d 4MATIC offers similar space with a higher seating position. If you want a wagon with a sportier drive, compare it with the BMW 3 Series Touring in the same price class.

Questions
What is included in the monthly price?
Fully comprehensive and partial cover with a EUR 1,500 deductible, registration, German plates and road tax, maintenance and service, seasonal tyres, 3,000 km a month and a PCS clause. There is no setup fee. VAT forms accepted. You add fuel.
Is there a deposit?
Yes, three months' rent of your plan: €4,497 on the 6-month plan and on the 30-day plan incl. VAT, €3,780 on the 30-day plan with a VAT form (NF-1), VAT-free. You pay it on site at handover, not online. You get the deposit back immediately at the return, as soon as the return report shows no damage. There is no down payment. For customers resident in Germany we run a credit check with SCHUFA Holding AG before the contract starts. If the result is negative, we may decline the booking; anything already paid is refunded in full.
Is the C-Class Estate a diesel?
Yes, a C 220 d with a 2.0-litre diesel mild hybrid, 200 hp, rear-wheel drive and the 9G-TRONIC automatic. At German pumps look for the label Diesel.
C-Class Estate or GLC?
Similar Mercedes interior and space for a family, different shape and drive. The Estate sits lower with rear-wheel drive and is easier to load heavy items into; the GLC 220 d 4MATIC is the SUV with all-wheel drive and a higher seat. If winter traction matters most, choose the GLC.
How big is the boot of the C-Class Estate?
490 litres with all seats in use, up to 1,510 litres with the rear seats folded (figures from the ADAC car catalogue, C 220 d T-Modell 9G-TRONIC). That is 35 litres more than the C-Class Sedan (455 litres).
How fast is the C-Class Estate?
0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 242 km/h, according to the ADAC car catalogue (C 220 d T-Modell 9G-TRONIC). The C-Class Sedan needs 7.3 seconds to 100 km/h.
How much can the C-Class Estate tow?
Up to 1,800 kg braked at a 12 % gradient, according to the ADAC car catalogue (C 220 d T-Modell 9G-TRONIC). A hitch depends on the concrete car: request it at booking, we confirm by email.
