Why people pick the C-Class Sedan AMG Line
- Baby S-Class: the big portrait screen, the ambient lighting, the hush.
- 9-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive.
Who the C-Class Sedan suits
The C-Class Sedan is the comfort pick of our entry price class. Our car is a C 200: a 1.5-litre petrol mild hybrid with 204 hp, rear-wheel drive and Mercedes' nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic. The mild hybrid system helps the engine start and stop smoothly in town, and at Autobahn speed the car is noticeably quiet.
Inside you get the large central touchscreen and ambient lighting of the current C-Class generation, plus AMG Line styling. Five seats and a proper boot of about 455 litres make it a good fit for couples, small families and anyone who spends long hours in the car, for example driving between bases or picking up family from Nuremberg or Munich airport.
The C-Class makes the most sense for households that spend real time in the car together: the airport run to collect family, a Sunday drive to a Christmas market, a weekend in Munich. It rides calmly on rough country roads, and the 204 hp petrol engine has enough in reserve for overtaking on the Autobahn with four people on board. On post it is still manageable: it is a midsize sedan, not a big one, so standard parking spaces work. If you are deciding between this and a diesel, look at your week. Mostly short and mixed trips favour this petrol C 200; long daily commutes favour the C-Class Estate with the C 220 d.
It is a petrol car, so it suits mixed driving and shorter trips better than a diesel. If most of your kilometres are long motorway runs, the C-Class Estate with the C 220 d or the BMW 3 Series 320d will use less fuel. Rear-wheel drive and the seasonal tyres we fit handle normal winter roads well; for regular trips on unploughed side roads, an all-wheel-drive car like the GLA 4MATIC or GLC is the safer bet.

Questions
What is included in the monthly price?
Fully comprehensive and partial cover with a EUR 1,500 deductible, registration, German plates and road tax, maintenance and service, seasonal tyres, 3,000 km a month and a PCS clause. There is no setup fee. VAT forms accepted. You add fuel.
Is there a deposit?
Yes, three months' rent of your plan: €4,497 on the 6-month plan and on the 30-day plan incl. VAT, €3,780 on the 30-day plan with a VAT form (NF-1), VAT-free. You pay it on site at handover, not online. You get the deposit back immediately at the return, as soon as the return report shows no damage. There is no down payment. For customers resident in Germany we run a credit check with SCHUFA Holding AG before the contract starts. If the result is negative, we may decline the booking; anything already paid is refunded in full.
Is the C-Class Sedan all-wheel drive?
No. Our C 200 has rear-wheel drive with a 1.5-litre petrol mild hybrid, 204 hp and the 9G-TRONIC automatic. With the winter tyres we fit it handles cleared winter roads well. For regular trips on unploughed side roads, the Mercedes GLA 4MATIC or GLC 220 d 4MATIC have all-wheel drive.
C-Class Sedan or C-Class Estate?
The Sedan is the C 200 petrol with a separate boot; the Estate is the C 220 d diesel with a tailgate and more room for luggage. Pick the Sedan for mixed and shorter driving, the Estate for long distances and bulky loads.
How big is the boot of the C-Class Sedan?
455 litres with all seats in use (figures from the ADAC car catalogue, C 200 Limousine 9G-TRONIC). Our source gives no figure with the rear seats folded. The C-Class Estate takes 35 litres more (490 litres).
How fast is the C-Class Sedan?
0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 246 km/h, according to the ADAC car catalogue (C 200 Limousine 9G-TRONIC).
How much can the C-Class Sedan tow?
Up to 1,800 kg braked at a 12 % gradient, according to the ADAC car catalogue (C 200 Limousine 9G-TRONIC). A hitch depends on the concrete car: request it at booking, we confirm by email.
